Class Update for March 11

Review for martes11 de marzo

Animals:

• We reviewed the following animals with a book and a song( click on animales to hear them)
  

• La obeja. Follow this link to go to how animals are pronounced.
  

MATERIAL: El cuerpo- the body

• We played a game of head and shoulders knees and toes in both English and Spanish. The children have a handout with the vocabulary words.
• I introduced La Cara- The face

1. la cara- the face
2. la boca- the mouth
3. los ojos- the eyes
4. los oidos- the ears
5. los dientes- the teeth
6. el pelo- the hair.
   

• We concentrated on the face- with the following format:

1. Sang- This is the way I wash my face, hair, eyes, nose, etc. but we substituted the Spanish words for those body parts.
   
2. We played a few games of Simon Says touch your Cara.
3. We created and played with our cara flash cards!
   

Review-

• We reviewed the weather
• We reviewed numbers 1-10
• Days of the week
  

Videos- Please check out the videos posted on the blog. This is an excellent way to keep the kids practicing and listening to Spanish during the week.

T.V. Station- I found yet another fun and educational station in Spanish. If you have the Dish Network, it is channel 9401.

Tarea- Homework- Please have the kids play with their flash cards and listen to the link for the Face so that they can hear the face parts on a daily basis.

Next Week- La proxima semana- I will:

1. Introduce body parts
2. Dance the hokey pokey in Spanish
3. Create our own cuerpo silohouette and label our cuerpo parts!
4. Learn that our biggest organ is our Skin!
   
5. Review the days of the week
6. Review the number 12
