CLASS UPDATE 3-4-08

Review for martes 4 de marzo

Simple Greetings:

• We reviewed with our greeting songs how to say:

1. Buenos dias amigo- good day friend
   
2. Buenas tardes amigo- good evening friend
3. Buenas noches amigo- good night friend

Animals:

• We reviewed the following animals with a book and a song( click on animales to hear them)
  

1. vaca- cow
2. cerdo- pig
3. caballo- horse
4. gallina- chicken
5. cabra- goat
6. tortuga- turtle
7. gato- cat
8. perro- dog
9. ganso- goose

NEW MATERIAL: El cuerpo- the body

• We played a game of head and shoulders knees and toes in both English and Spanish. The children have a handout with the vocabulary words.
• I introduced La Cara- The face

1. la cara- the face
2. la boca- the mouth
3. los ojos- the eyes
4. los oidos- the ears
5. los dientes- the teeth
6. el pelo- the hair

• I wrote a book for them entitled "Yo Soy Yo" I am me and this song: The book is a little different than the song but the kids liked it.
  

1. The kids had to trace each sentence and vocabulary words.
2. They also had to draw the body part as we sang the song in the book.
3. The song goes like this( to the tune of Are you sleeping Farmer John)

Yo soy yo, yo soy yo - I am me, I am me Me llamo ( child says his/her name) _______ 2x Thats my name, thats my name Tengo 2 ojos, tengo dos ojos- I have two eyes, I have two eyes Una boca y dientes, una boca y dientes - a mouth and teeth, a mouth & teeth. Tengo pelo, tengo pelo- I have hair, I have hair Tengo 2 oidos, tengo 2 oidos - I have two eyes, I have 2 eyes. Tengo una nariz, tengo una nariz -I have a nose, I have a nose Tengo todo esto, tengo todo esto- Yo soy yo- I am me!

Please have the kids practice as much as possible. Now that we have a web site that has the vocab audibly, please take advantage of it.

TUITION
Since we missed 3 classes in Feb. No tuition is due for March unless Feb. was not paid. I appreciate your patience with me and so there will be no charge for the class in Feb. That is my gift to you for being so kind to me while I was sick.
